On this day in 1990, Ken Griffey Sr. and Ken Griffey Jr. became the first father-and-son tandem to play on the same Major League Baseball team as they suited up for the Seattle Mariners. Both Griffeys went 1-for-4 in the 5-2 defeat of the Kansas City Royals, and 19-year-old Junior scored a run in support of pitcher Randy Johnson.
