On this day in 1991, Lakers guard Magic Johnson served up 19 assists in a 112-106 Laker win over the Dallas Mavericks, moving him ahead of Oscar Robertson to #1 on the all-time assist list with 9,898. (John Stockton would eventually pass both Magic and The Big O with a total of 15,606 career assists.)
