On August 30th 1937, American boxer Joe “The Brown Bomber” Louis and British champion Tommy “The Tonypandy Terror” Farr fought at Yankee Stadium before a crowd of approximately 32,000. After a closely-contested 15-round bout, Louis was unable to knock Farr down but won a controversial unanimous decision.
